General Show Rules - August 2025
- The last day of entries for the show is August 10th 2025, for all sections, entries will not be accepted after this date
- Online entries will be paid for online through our online forms, for any reason your payment is not processed we will contact you to arrange payment. Offline entries must be accompanied with the FULL amount of the entry fee (cheques, money orders postal orders are to be made out to Bantry agricultural Show) and must have all necessary details and information attached.
- Any person entering an exhibit and failing to send same for the exhibition shall forfeit the entry fee
- Exhibitors are reminded that whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure safety of exhibits the show will not be responsible for any loss or damage to nor will the show be accountable for any accident that will occur to any person attending the show whether as a visitor, exhibitor or otherwise.
- One person will be admitted free with every livestock entry. A free admission ticket will be issued to each exhibitor with 10 or more entries in classes other than livestock.
- The decision of the judges will be final, except for misrepresentation or breach of rules are discovered
No prizes will be awarded unless 2 compete, NO 2™ prize unless 3 compete and NO 3" prize unless 5 compete. A 4" prize will be awarded if there are 8 or more entries in a class. This rule will be waived should the judge consider there is a special merit and record it in their books at the time of judging.
- Class may be amalgamated at the discretion of the Bantry Show Committee.
- Cattle: If insufficient entries in calf classes Male & Female classes may need to be combined
- T. B status: All animals must come from a herd which is not restricted and have had a clear herd test within the last 12 months. Calves ages 6 weeks and under must wear an approved ear tag and an identity card.
- Brucellosis Status: the department of agriculture and food requirements:
- All animals must come from herds which are not restricted
- Certain animals (ex: females aged 24monthsand over and bulls 24 months and over) must have passed a test for Brucellosis within the previous 60 days. However, these animals may move to any number of shows within the validity period of the same 60-day pre-movement test.
- All exhibitors must have a certificate of compliance. All first prize winners debarred in subsequent classes except for Pairs Championship or special Prizes.
Objections in any case must be lodged in writing with the secretary within 1 hour of judging a class. All objections must be accompanied with a €20 fee, which will be forfeited if the object is sustained.
- Should an objection be made to successful animal in any class on the score of height, the stewards of the class shall have the animal examined by the shows veterinary surgeon whose decision will be final.
- The show reserves the right to refuse entries, varying prize lists and arrangements.
- The show is in no way liable for any claim for compensation arising out of the holding of,abandonment or alteration of the show date
Refreshments will be supplied on the show grounds
- The show has the option of cancelling any class where less than 3 entries have been received.
- Animals wishing to compete in the Irish draught mare class must have RID & IHR numbers.
- Foals must be led at the show.
- All entries in horse classes must have IHR number
- Due to the huge entry in the horse section judging will commence at 10am sharp, we are not responsible if you are late for your class.
- No Hawkers are allowed unless they produce their own public liability insurance.
- Exhibitors of animals are requested to have their own insurance cover.
- The show will not be accountable for any accident that may occur to any person attending the show whether as an exhibitor, visitor or otherwise.
- Enclosed limited parking grounds for cars or bicycles at owners' risk are provided. Cars parked at owners' risks
- The show will not be responsible for any typing errors in the entry forms, prize schedules, or publication of results in any national papers.
- Trade stands owner must have their own public liability insurance certificate.
- All exhibitors must wear their numbers so that they can be easily seen and read.
- The exhibitors in the arts and crafts section may not remove their exhibits until 4:30pm on show day.
- All horses aged 1 year and older must have mouthpieces

Please observe signs - especially those relating to caution in livestock areas
Please do not exhibit animals that are unsuitable regarding safety, Ex: hard to control All animals must be ed by a competent handler
Animals should not be tied to trailers
Dogs should be always on a lead and under control of the handler.
Caution and care should be always exercised throughout the show day.

*All Sheep Must Be Ear Tagged Prior to Show Day*
No 3rd prize will be paid unless there are 5 or more entries in the class.
Bantry Show is run in accordance with Irish Shows Rules. A copy of these rules is available by request.
RULES AND CONDITIONS
- This Competition is open to all Breeds of Crossbred Ewes
- An Exhibitor shall qualify a maximum of two ewes for the final.
- All ewes must have four or more permanent teeth.
- Ewes qualifying for this final is ineligible for entry to other classes at Bantry Show.
- Two Ewes in each qualifying show maybe selected to compete in the final provided the judges agree the standard is high enough.
- All exhibitors must wear a white coat and have their number clearly visible at the final.
- The Exhibitor must fill out their own qualifying Card at each qualifying Show.
- The foregoing rules should be read in conjunction with the ISA General rules together with Bantry Show rules.

*NO ENTRIES ON SHOW DAY
Prize Money 1st €40 2nd €30 3rd €20. All foals must be led.

No Stallions allowed.*
It is advisable that exhibitors have their own insurance.
Identification Passports for animals seeking qualification must be produced in class and final.
